Weiss Instrument was originally formed by Elek K. Weiss as an Engineering Representative firm. In the early years, the purpose of the business was to provide instrumentation and control systems to the industrial and research laboratory markets in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Operating as a one-man business for 18 years, Elek Weiss established a fine reputation for the company’s integrity and reliability. He valued his customers and was dedicated to maintaining relationships to ensure continued satisfaction.

Weiss continued to grow by adding five new employees in order to support the growing business and demand.
1983
1992
The founder of the company, Elek K. Weiss retired in 1992. Robert E. Jones became the new President of Weiss Instrument.
1992
2000
Over the years, the business continued to expand by hiring additional inside and outside sales representatives, clerical staff and a customer support team.
2000
2012
The business was restructured as a limited liability corporation (LLC), jointly-owned by Weiss management and by a private equity affiliate. The company’s registered name became Weiss Acquisitions LLC dba Weiss Instrument.

January 22, 2018
Weiss Instrument had a transformative event and was purchased by the new owner, Tony Luciana.

TODAY
Weiss has now changed their name to Weiss Industrial and their headquarters are located in Pittsburgh, PA. The company is now a leader in automation systems, process controls, instrumentation and power protections systems and services. They support customers and manufacturers throughout 10 states including; Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC and West Virginia. With new ownership, new goals and renewed vigor, Tony, and its experienced supporting management team, are confident to not only meet their goals, but greatly surpass them. They are dedicated to developing long term relationships with their clients by providing superior engineered solutions backed by 350 years of combined industry experience.
